1) Prepare Seed Bed
-Minimum 4-6 inch good topsoil
-Pick stones
-Work soil and rake out lumps
2) Spread Fertilizer
-12-12-20 Natural Green® (Item No.2081500) at 4-8 lb. per 1,000 sq. ft. or-
-15-24-8 + Bio-Kote (Item No. 2016401) at 4-8 lb. per 1,000 sq. ft.
3) Spread Seed
Spread evenly at the rate recommended for your specific variety.
4) Lightly Rake
Lightly rake in the seed and fertilizer-mix the seed with the top ¼ inch of soil.
5) Spread PennMulch®
Spread PennMulch® seed establisher at 70 lb. per 1,000 sq. ft.
6) Water! Water! Water!
-After seeding, water frequently but lightly (10-12 minutes). This would be 2-3 times per day depending how hot and dry the weather is. Continue this frequent watering for 10 days to 2 weeks. (Ryegrass should be greening up by now.)
-After 10 days to 2 weeks, water 1-2 times per day, 30-45 minutes each. (Bluegrass will first start to germinate after about 2 weeks of watering.)
-After 3-4 weeks, reduce the frequency of watering, but increase the length of time the sprinkler is on. (After about 2-3 months, water 1-2 times per week, applying 1 inch of water per week.)
7) After 3-5 weeks (if spring seeded)
After 3-5 weeks, apply 5 lb. per 1,000 sq. ft. of 19-6-8 + 12% Sulfur or 25-2-4 + Iron Natural Green®.
