Premium Insect Control Mini-Standard

The best actives become even better when impregnated on the right granule.  Whether controlling surface feeders, sod webworms or white grubs, Spring Valley has the solution for the most demanding turf manger.  Our specialty-grade granulation provides more than 60% more particles per square foot and provides superior coverage for supreme control.  When it comes to performance, Spring Valley combination fertilizers with insect control are a cut above the rest.

MACH 2® (an acronym for molt-accelerating compound halofenizide) is a highly effective insecticide that is designed for use on historically active grub areas and provides at least 6 weeks of residual effectiveness.  Within hours of ingesting MACH 2®, target larvae stop feeding.  Two to three weeks later, upon prematurely shedding its exoskeleton, they die beneath the soil surface.  MACH 2® is odorless and has a wide application window that can either be used as a preventative or early curative treatment for grubs through the second instar.  MACH 2® requires no immediate irrigation, does not break down from sunlight, and serves as an excellent rotation option to MalletTM.  One application of 2-lb. A.I. per acre will provide season-long control against grub larvae such as Japanese beetle, black turfgrass ataenius, and northern and southern masked chafers.  A 1.5 lb. rate eliminates Lepidoptera larvae, including cut worms, sod webworms and army worms.

Mallet TM (imidacloprid) is a revolutionary grub control product with unsurpassed preventative and curative performance. Mallet TM controls grub damage in turfgrass from egg-laying through the second instar.  Compared to other insecticides,Mallet TM controls mole crickets and a variety of other pests at low A.I. rates. Mallet TM provides strong residual activity and biological performance for the toughest pests including larvae of Japanese beetle, northern and southern masked chafer, annual bluegrass weevil, billbug, and black turfgrass ataenius.  For optimum control, applyMallet TM prior to egg-laying of target pests followed by sufficient irrigation or rainfall to move the active ingredient through the thatch (usually one half inch irrigation).  Applications forMallet TM should be at the rate of .4 lbs. A.I. per acre and should not exceed .4 lbs. A.I. per acre, per year.
